Strike down

Burst of light, crash sound.
Unusual on CapHill.
My lamp's flickering.

We were in total storm tracker mode (via Weather Underground) at Casa de Final last night!

Just promise you won't go all Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton on us. Seattle piping won't hold you down in a pinch.

I'm just annoyed that they cut the sound of SYTCYD to tell us about a thunderstorm warning. Seriously, a banner across the bottom of the screen is even overkill, let alone a sound warning!

The emergency broadcast system cuts out the sound. That's the way the system is designed. Who reads banners across the bottom of the screen, anyway?

Cosign the annoyance at the cutting of SYTYCD sound... Ahhh! It's a damn thunderstorm. The Midwest has them all the time and the networks manage not to pause all primetime entertainment audio.

Actually the Midwest does have storms all the time and along with them all-consuming emergency weather warnings. When the storm is particularly threatening, they may preempt the programming altogether and go to the station's "Weather Center." Chill out, Seattlites.
